A rare and superlative single barrel whiskey, Kings County Distillery's 7-Year Straight Bourbon is one of the oldest age-statement bourbons distilled outside of traditional bourbon country. This barrel — #1198 — was aged entirely in the greenhouse-like upstairs aging room of the Paymaster building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, leading to a more traditional and barrel-forward bourbon profile. The nose on this 107-proof bottling primarily presents the expected oak character, along with peanut brittle and burnt citrus peel. The palate leads with oak spice, while light fruit and toasted oak feature heavily through the finish.
